pen and ink drawing
Inspired by woven textile designs, these miniature drawings are part of a larger series. Each original measures approximately 3 inches square. A collaboration between Jutta Sellin and myself, we found that by giving ourselves a simple set of limitations we could create drawings which had enough variety to be unique unto themselves but maintained enough similarity as to be able to work together. The rules were kept to a minimum. Draw with black ink, by hand. Trace over the one-eighth-inch grid paper we keep in our studio. Make it a minimum of three inches square. The process became very meditative and I've used it as a morning warm-up for my hands and my brain.

The Beauty of Experimentation
A series of photocopier experiments using transparency film and found typography.
In a search to add emotion to an assortment of found letterforms, I stumbled upon these transparency films I could put through the photocopier. Using nothing other than these rudimentary tools, I created a variety of compositions. The result is this series of delicate, quiet, fleeting, and ethereal moments captured on paper which I bound into a small book.
